A deep bond with the farming village in the far south of Palermitano, where<strong>&#8220;Uncle Pietro<\/strong>&#8220;-as everyone likes to call him in the village-was born in May 1930. These are hands that carve a dying world, hard work, that of the fields and livestock, that Pietro knew in his youthful years. In 1967 he suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury and underwent numerous surgeries that would force him to remain in a wheelchair for quite some time. Like all self-taught artists, he lives the creative experience without filters or trappings.
