Bulgarian and Argentine operators
Second international showcase for the Sicani Villages network, which after the successful participation, in October last year, at the Ttg Travel Experience in Rimini, the Italian event that brings together all the world’s tourism communities in a single event, now brings Sicilian excellence to Naples, for the 27th edition of the Btm, Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo.
A prestigious event, it is in fact the most important industry fair held in the Mediterranean. Four hundred and fifty exhibitors in the six pavilions of the Mostra d’Oltremare in Naples; including tour operators, airlines, shipping companies, cruises, international tourism bodies, national public bodies, consortia and associations, the big names in tourism will be present. More than 20,200 professional trade visitors attending the event, while the last day of the Btm, which ends tomorrow, is also open to the general public.
An ideal journey into the world of proximity and luxury tourism, passing through the innovations that already shape and characterize the future of travel.
The Italy Pavilion dedicated to Incoming, hosts four Italian regions including Sicily, accommodation operators and four major thematic workshops, dedicated to the Italian offer with over three hundred national and international buyers.
“Participating in the most important trade fairs in the sector,” says Pierfilippo Spoto, an expert in village tourism, “is essential to promote the experiential tourism that is the flagship of the Sicani Villages network. Thanks to this international showcase, we have already arranged for foreign tour operators to visit our island. This weekend they will come from Switzerland, Bulgaria and even Argentina. In April, on the other hand, educationals will be held for journalists from both the national and foreign press. The goal is to make known an alternative Sicily, rich in ancient traditions that are still alive and whose treasure is first and foremost its human capital.”
In the “showcase” for the Btm in Naples, there are therefore the Easter Arches that just these days, thanks to the work of the whole community, are being made in the warehouses of San Biagio Platani; the ancient technique of chiacchierino in Santo Stefano di Quisquina; the charm and magic of the Andromeda Theater; the Frederician castle of the beautiful medieval village of Giuliana with its excellent food; Sant’Angelo Muxaro with its archaeological museum and its necropolis with the Prince’s Tomb; the traditional ceramics of Burgio, where there is the only bell foundry still operating in all of southern Italy…. and much, much more for a unique and unforgettable journey at the slow pace of an authentic and generous Sicily.
