Patronal feast of St. Anthony Abbot

On the evening of the eve, the kids set fire to a woodpile prepared in the previous days. The fire ritual precedes the next day’s festival, during which the products of the land and animals whose patron saint is blessed.

St. Anthony Abbot is also invoked to be preserved from fire and fires. During the festival in his honor, the statue depicting him is carried in procession through the streets of downtown, followed by a multitude of worshippers.
