On the sea of Bovo Marina
glamorous vacations
and unspoiled nature

Luna Minoica was born in 2016
Suites, apartments, glamping
and refined cuisine on the dune

The place is the kind that makes you think that paradise on earth really exists. Kilometers of pristine beaches, bordered by dunes that lead to a dense forest of pine and eucalyptus trees. We are on the coast of Bovo Marina, in the territory of Montallegro, a small town in the Agrigento area with just over two thousand inhabitants.
Luna Minoica ‘s adventure began in 2016, when an entrepreneur from Verona, Silvio Trevisan, fell in love with this corner of Sicily, still wild and unspoiled, and decided to buy a 1970s building a few steps from the sea, of which he imagined the accommodation potential. The structure at the beginning of the activity is a bed and breakfast, now the formula is that of suites & apartments.
In all, forty elegant rooms with all the comforts, plus apartments. Luna Minoica is, in addition, equipped with two swimming pools, one of which has seawater. For the past five years, there has also been Locanda Perbellini al Mare, the beachside restaurant that is the brainchild of star chef Giancarlo Perbellini.

“Our target audience,” says Luna Minoica manager Alice Canino, “is medium-high; and, in that sense, we have been trailblazers in the area. Our season runs from April to November. Mostly, our guests are couples, but there is no shortage of families who find in our facility, adequate services even for the little ones. Fifty percent Italian, our clientele also includes Germans, French, Swiss and Americans.”
The charm of unspoiled nature and the proximity to archaeological sites of great importance, such as the archaeological park of the very close Eraclea Minoa and the Valley of the Temples, make Bovo Marina an ideal base for exploring the surroundings; just a few kilometers away, at an altitude of almost a thousand meters, is the beautiful Caltabellotta and a few kilometers further on, the seaside town of Sciacca. For the more energetic, Luna Minoica also offers the possibility of exploring the surroundings by bicycle or by various types of trekking.
“Before there was no activity here,” Canino says, “today in the wake of Luna Minoica, several kiosks have sprung up on the beach offering food service and the possibility of renting sunbeds and umbrellas. In our facility alone, fifty employees work, all local: a nice boost to the area’s economy. Enhancing the area’s natural and human capital is one of our corporate mantras.”
A philosophy that also applies to Locanda Perbellini al Mare, which positioned on a dune can give patrons the impression of being on the deck of a ship.

“A restaurant of the highest quality,” says Canino, “with refined dishes, but non-starred prices. Preparing them is Giacomo Vella, a young chef from Montallegro, specially trained in Veneto at Perbellini’s school. His menu emphasizes local products and traditional recipes.”
Finally, for those who, while not wanting to give up any comforts, prefer close contact with nature and want to bask in breathtaking views, there is the possibility of immersing themselves in the fascinating world of glamping. On a rise that allows the view to sweep from the Torre Salsa Reserve to Capo Bianco, there is Luna Minoica’s luxury tent complete with patio and private pool.
A partner of Sicani Villages, Luna Minoica is also part of the Sicani Rural Quality District.

“We are very proud,” says Alice Canino, “to participate in this project. We are part of the Sicani network because we truly and strongly believe in it. Incentivizing the promotion of the territory, is part of our mission, and to do it in the best way, it is necessary to activate more and more synergies.”
