Aragon – Second weekend of September

Feast of St. Vincent Ferreri

Between sacred and profane. Between spirit and belly! The festival in honor of the co-patron (along with Our Lady of the Rosary) St. Vincent Ferreri, who tradition has it contended with neighboring Favara, intersects with the traditional Sausage Festival.

On the other hand, St. Vincent Ferreri is in a special way the patron saint of Aragonese butchers, to whom we owe the special sausage made from hand-beaten prime meat, with only salt and black pepper added.

During the three-day festivities culminating on the second Sunday in September, the program of religious services is complemented by the secular festival with folkloric performances, roasted sausage and local product tastings, exhibitions and various kinds of performances. The whole country is in turmoil.

On Sunday, which ends with the procession of the simulacrum of the saint through the center of Aragon, the traditional Fair of Livestock and Agricultural Tools is also organized.
