Holy Week and Taganu Festival

Also in Burgio, as in many towns on the Island, Easter is very much felt and celebrated with much participation, with a mix of the sacred and the profane that perpetuates very ancient traditions.

Among the events not to be missed are the “Rigattiate,” which on Easter Sunday afternoon pits St. Vitus and St. Luke against each other as their respective confraternities compete in the streets of the town.
