Hadrian’s Palace – March 19
Feast of St. Joseph
Feast of St. Joseph on March 19 and first Sunday in September. It is one of the most heartfelt festivals in Hadrian’s Palace, so much so that it is celebrated twice throughout the year. On these occasions, the festival dedicated to the saint is organized, with tastings of bread with oil and cheese, sausage, pizzas and desserts; performances by folk groups; and the exhibition of votive breads.

Many families, by grace received, set the characteristic tables. On the occasion of St. Joseph’s Bread Festival on the first Sunday in September, a large table with a generous assortment of votive bread in a variety of forms is prepared in the churchyard of the Maria Santissima del Lume church.
After the Holy Mass, the blessed bread is distributed to the faithful. Finally, in the solemn and impressive evening procession, the simulacra of St. Joseph and Our Lady of Mount Carmel parade together.
